I presently own a 2001 Proline walkaround. It's an alright boat- good for the price, but not a grady. Anyway the boat was purchased with my wife and kids in mind, the only problem is she definitely won't go out and the kids can take it or leave it. I really wanted a center console. I'm thinking about trading it in for a 2003 170 Montauk with a 90 4 stoke. Any thoughts on this swap. I live and fish on the north fork but like to venture out to montauk weather permiting. Also part of the reasoning is I would save on maintenance and dockage on the 20' versus trailerable 17'( my trucks tow cap. is 3500lbs.). Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Your Choice......

The choice is the one you have to make.
The 17' is going to be easy to handle by your self, and trailering shouldn't be any problem.
Just make sure that the lay out is going to be up to your expectations, storage, fuel etc.
might want to also check out the 18' Parker C/C. Nice little boat, and easy to trailer, and very simple.
Just look around @ what is avalible in that size range.
