I was reading the thread on winterizing and saw LeakyRivots recomendation not to run your motors with the fuel plug off till they run out of gas. I was instructed to do this by several mechanics but as LeakyRivot says with multi carb motors they don't run out of gas at the same time, is it true then that some pistons are working with no lubercation? This sounds logical and has me wondering if it's good for the motor to run it out of gas, especially before storing it away for the winter?? When I winterize my motor I usally pull the plugs and spray fogging oil into the cylinder and rotate the flywheel to coat the cylinder walls, but this is after I run the engine with Stabil in the fuel till it's out of gas. Any thoughts?
