Fished the last 2 hours of the incoming and the 1st hour of the outgoing this morning. Used green bucktails tipped with squid and spearing. Tried several different locations and picked up a couple of shorts, then got 2 nice keepers, a fat 20" fish and an even fatter 22" fish fishing the channel drop off in front of the coast guard station. Took a ride over to the elbow and, falling victim to my addiction of fishing the edges of the sand bars, wound up getting stuck on the bar after the drift didn't quit go the way I had intended. Got the boat off the bar after 30 minutes of hard work and figured I'd call it a day. The bar I got stuck on is the one on the west side of the elbow, adjacent to the island, it was amazing, the water went from 6 feet to 1 1/2 feet within just a few yards. I have no doubt theres fluke lying in that dropp off, but I don't think I'll try fishing it again. Anyway, good fishing all.
