The lighthouse parking lot

There is a big lot there to park in and you can walk to the North or South sides with ease. Enjoy your vacation.

surf fishing montauk

If you don't have the permits or required equipment, your 4x4 is essentially useless. The lot at the lighthouse is $5 between 8:00 and 4:00 if you get in before or after, parking is free. Just follow the fisherman down one of the paths. If you don't have corkers, stay off the rocks, if you value your life. Without them, you are limited to Turtle Cove. Just ask a fisherman to point the way for you. It's a fantastic spot, sandy, safe, and touches the western rocks of the lightshouse. Also, stop in one of the town's tackle shops and they can direct you to the other sandy, easy, public access fishing spots. Before going, do your homework, and be very safe. Good luck and maybe I'll see you out there.
