I have a rod in my basement that measures 7'6", has six sides, two guides, made of wood, extended surf butt section which is detachable, and the only marking on it say "montag special" in script writing. The rod came from my great grandfather so it is very old, but in quit good condition. Does anyone know who made it, if it is worth anything, how old it maybe? Any info on it would be greatly appreciated.

I bought one just like it at a flea market for $7.
If you want to sell yours I will give you the same price plus shipping. They are wicked good for catching Halibut which is unfourtuneanet as Halibutt are nearly extintke. (East Baltic Speling Downta make a fun of it)
