How long do you consider mono, such as your skeins of leader mono or that 2lb spool that you only used half of to fill your reels, to be good for on the shelf.

Do you think the mono degrades with time on the shelf or do you think it is still good to make leaders from that roll you bought 3 years ago.

If kept out of the sun and dry I think it would last almost forever.

Agree, shelf life is almost forever if its kept out of the light.

Mono will last very long in a dark, cool environment. Light will destroy the material, heat will warp it.

Mono will last for years if kept in a cool dark area.The biggest problem is the memory it will have after years of sitting on a spool.

i bought some leader on e bay that was new old stock that must have been 10 yrs old and it is good as new i have some other big spools that are almost as old that are good as new too must be cool dry and most important dark out of the light .
