Today was one of the nicest days so far this year, i little breezy but beautiful. I got out late this afternoon and fished for about an hour and a half, just to relax after a hard day's work. There were a lot of birds gobbling up spearing off scotch caps there were a few blues and scattered bunker at the caps as well, but no takers. I decided to troll a long-A minnow out in the middle between Rye and HH. I landed 2 blues 7 lbs and 6 lbs respectively. I had another one on for couple minutes before it threw the hook. The one I lost felt considerably larger than the other fish. I went back to the caps and threw lures for a bit, had one hit but it caught me off guard and I missed the hook set. Nevertheless, it was great to get out for a bit in the middle of my work week.
I heard a rumor that some fluke were caught at Sand's Point this week. I can't wait to hook up with a big 20 1/2 flattie.
