and the results

I got this fine looking fish on a hand made Bucktail with some nice hackle feathers tied into it, posted on previous bucktail post. Looking forward to use these plugs now that i know the fish are back.

Hey Jimmy...nice work there on those baits...and it looks like you're getting really proficient with the paint on those finishes...

Heckuva nice striper as well...I've been reading through some old fishing books and ran across descriptions of these old timers who were modifying their plugs and catching BIG muskies up on the St. Lawrence River...got me thinking...this one gent clipped off the back treble on a magnum sized Creek Chub Pikie, substituted a 4/0 Siwash single & hung a big copper flasher-spoon on there in back...and just cleaned up on BIG muskies ;)...
Made me curious if anybody's been doing anything like that & how it's worked (or not worked) for them...

Lure building season's right around the corner now...I feel that chill in these old bones...time to crank up the woodstove, I guess...

Real nice job on those lures...I expect you'll be hammering the bass when the migration sends 'em back down your way...let us know how it goes...thanks for posting the pics..

Jerry,

good to hear from you, yeah the season has started. last week was great this weekend should be even better. Im going for the 30 pounder. Fish were all over this past weekend and now since i have got a keeper this fall out of the way i will start to play with some of my creations. I am also looking to make a new mold for a bucktail design i saw on another site. (sol) i have been hanging out there alot . those guys like to turn wood boy. There are so many creative ideas on those pages. I wish we can get these boards posting, but alot of the viewers of this web site do not seem to make as much tackle as others. Anyway talk to you soon, show me what you are up too, See ya , Good luck and be well.
