mercrusier v 8 140 hours needs repair?

have 2 saesons 140 hours on a newly installed mercrusier and the circulating pump is squelling terribly.engine comes with a 1 year warentee.

1st check belts then see if there is play by moveing the pully back and fourth on my 454 i had the pump go once, after 600 hours
