Hi guys! I'm a Louisiana fisherman with no experience in fishin' the New England coast. I'll be in the Cape Cod area the latter half of May. Is there much surf action for stripes or blues? Live or cut-bait? Would I be better off just to hook up with a charter? Rent a boat?
Any response appreciated.
although stripers show sometimes as early as april in N.Y. may might be a bit to early in the cape cod area. but with this mild winter we are having i say your chances are good. small baits such as fin s shad bodies, small buck tails, and small plugs are a good start. in the spring a plug and teaser is a good presentation. if you must use bait..... try sand worms
FISH ON !

Fishin'fool nice red fish. If your going to Cape Cod in late May use leadheads with sluggos and bounce them off the bottom and you'll be catching. There's lots of sandeels around there at that time.
