May 17 Paddle Craft Safety Check/Demo/Paddle at Captree
May 17 from 11 to 3:30 there will be a Paddlecraft (kayaks and canoes) Safety Check, on water demonstrations and an opportunity to paddle (or peddle) the marshes just north of Captree State Park. The event is sponsored by NYS Parks, US Coast Guard, Sea Kayak Skills and Adventures, and a couple of other organizations. It's an opportunity to learn, explore, and meet folks. Bring your boat, PFD and have a great time.
The event is free but you still have to pay the park entry fee like everybody else. Tip of the Day: Get an Empire Passport good for unlimited park admission not just on Long Island but good state wide.
