This kid is on fire! Yesterday, my son went out around 12:30 pm and kayaked over to his spot. Wind was northerly so he had plenty of protection from the waves on this cool, somewhat cloudy day. Water temp is still chilly in the low 50s in the harbor areas and in the mid-high 40s in the deeper water. I came out with my friend Eric on his boat from Port Chester around 3 pm to find that the kid had picked up a nice 26-27 inch bass (released). My friend and I started bucktailing but there was a lot of weed in the water and the breeze made for a difficult drift with all the winter stakes in the water. So we picked up an unused mooring and hung out while the kid fished. We watched him nail two nice schoolie bass in the hour we were there. He's been catching all the bass slow trolling with tube/worm. He fished the bottom of the outgoing, but the good action is on the incoming. Bigger bass shouldn't be far behind now. <like href="http://www.noreast.com/postedreports/view.cfm?id=170144" send="false" show_faces="false" width='layout="button_count"'></like> Off to another bass-filled afternoon When will a real Spring come? Nice schoolie for a Sunday afternoon Fun to watch the kid catch fish |
