I like poppers in bright color combinations like Parrot. Also try pencil poppers like the cotton cordell. Its got a rattle, makes a lot of surface noise and splash, and the chrome finish offers good visibility. If you fish the pencil popper right it moves very slowly across the water. You have to give the fish time to hear and feel your plug when there is limited visibility.
