i have been making wooden poppers and pencil plugs for a year now. the wire i use is leader wire .041. does anyone have a better wire. or does anyone no what gibbs lures use, at a web site or catalog, or a store, around se mass. or cape cod. locksmith

Gibbs and other saltwater plug manufacturers use 0.050 stainless wire.
I use 0.050 316L stainless. You should be able to get the wire at a local welding shop. I think stamina carries 0.050 in their online catalog. Good luck!

thanks BassHoll, i called new bedford welding supply today.. they did not have .050, but they had .045 and 1/16, so the guy gave me one of each to try. i think i will go with the 1/16. thanks again...
