Loomis Blanks

Anyone have an opinion about the differences between the Loomis GL2, GL3 and IMX blanks. I am looking at a Loomis Mag Bass for light tackle fluking/bucktailing and am wondering if the $50 price steps are worth it.

Hi,

They are all good blanks. Usually the more expensive series are more sensitive, lighter in weight, thinner in diameter and more easily broken (durability). The more expensive blanks are newer generations of graphite. You get a bigger bang for your buck.

The above paragraph usually applies to the other blank companies also.

Hi,

Which ever G Loomis rod you buy it will be a winner. They are designed to be very sensitive BUT extra sensitivity usually means giving up some durability. Treat the rod properly and it will return many hours of fish catching fun!
