You don't need any special technique to catch mackerel. Buy a few mackerel rig from any tackle shop. However, you'd better hurry. Mackerel are on the move now and bluefish are all over the place today.

Mackerel school are wide spread now from mid Jersey to Montauk. Still Party boats from Belmar, NJ caught tons of mackerel yesterday(04-18-02). A friend of mine found big school of mackerel just a few miles off Jones Inlet (heading 185 degree in 68 - 70 feet water) on 04-17-02.
Capt. Lou and Super Spray from Freeport
and Brookyn VI,Sheepshead Bay will go mackerel fishing on Saturday. Good luck.
