I'm looking for info on hand lining. Im hoping to hook and land a yellow this year on a hand line. Any info would be great help. Im not sure where to start. Thanks Will L.

If you value your fingers you might start by researching Kevlar gloves...

Use a spool of line that you can manage. If a fish runs on a handline you got to be able to let that happen quick and easy.........need a good pair of gloves, heavier commercial line

With the size of the fish this season 12lb test should be fine
