Hey guys

I am looking for a private fishing charter for about 8 people, a couple who have not really been on a boat before so would want to stay in the bays / sound unless it was a real flat day. The executive team I work with does about half dozen various team outings each year and I convinced them to do a fishing trip as one of our next ones.

Gotta luv fishing on the company dime :)

My problem is I am not aware of any boats that would handle 8 or so people privately. We are based in Hauppauge, L.I. so I am thinking maybe we would go as far as Mattituck or Greenport East, Free Port to the West?

Any thoughts on boats? Any advice would be great, thanks all.

I know you don't want to travel far but most of the boats I am thinking of are out East. If you do consider Montauk, Burt Prince on the Susie E II can take 16 and the boat rides very nicely for newbies. A little closer to home there is also Rich jensen's Nancy ann and Phil Kess's Fishy Business that you can consider.

Closer still in Riverhead is Captain Larry on the Zephyr. He normally sails open but you could probably arrange a charter with him. What is even better is that he comes out of the back of Peconic Bay so you will fish in the protected waters of the bay.
