I have to post this just in case someone actually says yes - I'll be visiting east hampton this weekend and my g-friend challenged me to prove how helpful and nice the members of this site are by getting invited out on someone's boat and bringing home dinner....anyone willing to have company this weekend??? It would have the added bonus of helping me justify to her why I spend so much time reading the posts these days. (I have the equipment and would certainly want to $contribute as well.)
Thanks you.

Thank you Dr. MONTAUK it is. Unfortunately, so far it looks like I'll be waiving a long stick on the beach and explaining to her not to judge by just one post. By the way, if Montauk boys do not prove to be available, you are out of Smithtown Bay, right? Any special obligations as the moderator and all? haha

Hey South Beach...

if you do fish with the Doctor either way on you way to the east end or on your way home do yourself a favor. Go back out est slightly to Port Jeff and take the ferry back across to Stamford. traffic will be brutal going back in. If you get there alittle early catch a bite to eat in one of the many restaurants right by the ferry. the trip across is about 1:15 and leaves you off right off 95 in Bridgeport. No traffic makes for a very relaxing trip. Just an idea.

Have you tried the "Fishing Buddies" section?
http://www.noreast.com/fishingBuddies/list.cfm?®ion_ID=33

There are also some nice charters out of Montauk. Check em out.

:) Nice "fish" tale. Now come on and 'fess up. Your girlfriend had nothing to do with your request, did she? If she did, then she needs to get a hobby.... maybe you should introduce her to ....... er, um fishing?!?!?! :)

Good luck!! :) :)

South Beach: 'twas all in fun :)

Just messin' with you, South Beach! :)
I'm the captain in my family, and my husband is really enjoying learning about boats and stuff - this is our first boat together - I grew up with one, though. Anyway, I thought maybe you and the girlfriend might enjoy doing the fishing thing together. So, did you get out and fish last weekend?

I was just in E.H. today - took my boat from Flanders Bay to Three Mile Harbor. What a beautiful day to be out on the water!!

Anyway, I hope my little poke at you did not offend. I apologize if it did.

Best wishes!!

Hey GoodNight, no offense taken, do not worry (you gotta push harder than that to get under this boys' skin). Boat boys/girls came through, but unfortunately too late to connect so I ended up hooking up with a fellow surfercaster - through this site. Tried around Shinne**** Inlet/jetty - got skunked, unless you like sea robins....that's why I wanted to get out on a boat. Though in all fairness, plenty of fluke around, just no bass, blues, albies.
But thank you for the buddies link!!
Bye the way, she does come out fishing with me on the beach....just haven't had an opportunity to get her out on a boat yet, now if only i could find a nice couple who owns a boat to fish with, hmmmmmmmmmm
