I want to build a 7' glass rod to liveline bunker or 3 way chunks in the rips. I'll match the rod with a Shimano TLD20 with 30# mono. Can you suggest some blanks that can handle the weight/stress of this type of fishing? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi,

You could use a Lamiglass BT 96 3M and cut the butt end. A BT 85 7S might be a bit too stiff but it will handle big fish and rough current.

Have you considered a composite blank? Lamiglass CGBT 84 1M, Seeker CSW 658 or Calstar GF 700L.

I have those blanks and many more if you want to ceiling stick them. I'm not in the business of selling blanks but at least you can flex them to assist in the decision making process.
