Any of the Town Halls should sell hunting & fishing licences. At least they do in Nassau.

Give sports authority a call. I know they used to do it.

I don't believe that Sports Authority does them any more and if I remember correctly they would'n issue it there it had to be mailed to your home.

You mighht be better off trying one of the tackle shops in your area.

I picked one up at Sports Authority, Westbury this week. Customer Service has them.

GO to the town hall they punch them up on the computer takes five minutes.they close at 4:30 pm i arrived at 4:25 the clerk said no problem by 5o pm had my first trout of the season. FISH ON

You can also get one online at the DEC web site. Once you apply for it you are good to go, even though it takes a little while to get it mailed to you. Any ticket you get will be squashed when you mail it back with your dated license.

Is there a confirmation page once you apply? If you print a copy and carry it w/ you until the lic. arrives you may be able to squash the ticket before it's written. Just a thought.

ON-LINE APPLICATION

I just ordered a license over the phone. The number is posted on the earlier thread about Manhattan.

The person told me that the on-line registration would be up at some time in the future. Could you supply the url for the on-line application? Thanks.

Beginning August 26, 2002, you may purchase 2002-2003 sporting licenses and permits via DECALS at:

* all license issuing outlets (most municipal clerks' offices and many sporting goods stores),
* by phone* at 1-86-NY-DECALS (1-866-933-2257) or
* by mail to: WorldCom, P.O. Box 36985, Phoenix AZ 85067-6985. A Mail order application form (38kb pdf) is available.

I know the Walmart in Riverhead sells them, so check your local walmart, if that is more convenient.
