Anyone know where to get a license in Midtown? Live on the island but work in city so it may be easier to get one at lunch time. Thanks!!

There is an Orvis

store located at 522 5th ave. On the corner of 44th and 5th. You can grab a license there.

Craig- just called over there and the woman said they have never sold them there and she has been there 7 years. Maybe up your way they do- I will hit a Sports Authority on LI- they say they issue even though a B&T shop said it is only done by the state after 9/11. This is turning into more of a quest than it should be!!!

Found I could get one over the phone thru the DECALS service ...1-866-933-2257. Should get it in 7-10 days.

Just ordered mine by phone. Also they should have the 2003/2004 licenses up and loaded by Labor Day so you can pre-order for next year.

i recommend a lifetime license. It costs 250. But, it saves you the hassel of dealing with an incompetent person at sports authority every year.

when i spent a half hour at the counter a few years ago i said the **** with it and spent the bucks.
