downeast lines

It is funny that you say that .
since building her in 1999 i have had so many compliments on what good lines she has compared to other downeast boats I guess it is just how it is proportioned with the curved rails and wheel house placement
I am 100% happy with her performance and sea keeping abilities and she goes to sea like a larger vessel but with out any headaches and major fuel bills
The most i can get her to burn is 6 gallons per hour at 18-20 knots loaded down
most of the time it is 4-5 gph

Southshore 30

Capeguy I cant help but admire the lines of that boat. Here are some pics. of a 1959 Webers cove that was built by the grandfather of the present yard owner. you can see the heritage. Cruised at 16/18 knots with an international harvester diesel burning 3 1/2 gal per hr. I sold the boat in the 70s with 6000 hrs on it. One of the most comfortable and easy running boats I'd ever been on. Last I saw it was beeing used as a charter boat in Montauk.

Not sure they are from the same ancestors

Spygull

My boat was designed by Calvin beal Jr.
They all are very similar and the one you have posted is a good example
i wonder if yours was wood construction or glass?
Wood, 1 1/2 in. white ceder over laminted oak ribs built down keel. Huge rudder, could back her in both directions. Many of todays boats borrowed from these older designs but have to make some accomodation for molded construction. Note the tumble home in the transom.
35 Duffy. Really great finish on this boat. Not as fast as many canyon runners, but I'll smile when the weather goes bad. I'll be working on it this winter to be ready for next year.

Oh well, time to go to the boat show, lots of winter projects ahead. It sure is nice to think about being out on the water again. Here's a shot of mine "FISH N CHICKS".

24' ROS (1996)

My Chariot may not be to big but she holds her own. And as much as I hate to do it, I will be selling it this spring to get one I can trailer with my truck...

27 Whaler

Great boat but not what I want to marry for my long term relationship. Hopefully I'll hit the lotto within the next couple of years and move into the 30-33' range.
