Hey A/H... you probably do the same thing as I do and go right to the D boards.
On the home page there is a list of ramps. I don't know if they list the Town of Southhold but that is where you go.
I heard a rumor that if you are out there before Memorial Day the ramps have no one working them and it is free. You do need a permit for there during the busy season though
I got one through my bother in law who owns property there and got a guest pass for 30 bucks, A regular pass is 100.
There is Gull Pond in Greenport and another public ramp just down the street from Legends in New Suffolk. Im not sure about the summer but I dont think that you will have to much of a problem using them in the spring.
I hate to encourage people to crowd my waters even more, but the Gull Pond ramp is very popular. Coming out of the inlet, you are immediately in great Fluking grounds. Head past the breakwater and ferrys to the Lawns.
I've trailered on a friend's boat out of Gull Pond. I think you'll be fine on all tides there. Before Memorial Day they pretty much leave you alone. After that if you don't have a local beach sticker you can expect a ticket on your windshield when you get back. Another option might be Port of Egypt Marina in Southold. I believe they have a ramp for a fee. Once out of the marina you are like 2 minutes from the fishing.
