I have the Voyager in Pt. Pleasant Beach, NJ chartered for offshore tilefishing Sunday July 13-Monday July 14

Captain Jeff has some excellent tile drops. Last year I made it out with Jeff 4 times and they were truly exceptional with literally dozens of 30-40 lb fish and even a few 50's. We also caught good numbers of wreckfish and barrelfish in some spots.

What makes this charter special is Capt Jeff has promised to take us to the best of the best of his drops, the spots where we had the very best catches last year, in search of some really big tiles. If you like tilefishing this is a trip you should not miss.

Here are the details:

Cost: $310 (tip included)
Departure: 10PM Sunday July 13****BOARD AT 10, LEAVE AT 11PM****

Thanks Mark,

I'm really suprised nobody's signed up. With only 10 confirmed and a load of 22 I'm going to have to ask Capt Jeff to send out an email to some of his regulars for me soon. I'll hold off as long as I can before asking Jeff to help fill it, but I can't wait TOO long. I really hope some more noreaster's sign up for this trip because it should be a very memorable trip to some amazing drops that are rarely touched by fishermen.

Joe - thanks very much for helping find fares. Do you think you'll be able to join as well?

Eastcoasttoggin - Right now we only have one person coming from the LI, I'll ask him if he can help you out and if not, If can find a way to Manhattan I can drive you the rest of the way.

JDF - There are no rod rentals for tile trips but there are some real tackle nuts coming on this trip and I'm sure we could arrange a loaner for you. Pretty much most very heavy cod outfits and most tuna jigging outfits will work. I have at least 3 or 4 setups that can work for tilefish so if you want to borrow it won't be a problem. If you'd rather have your own gear I can recommend some good rods & reels.

All - please let me know if you want to join the charter and I'll send you payment instructions.

Thanks to all for your interest.

Shocked!!

I can't believe there are spots still open for this trip. $310 with tip is quite a bargain for a trip of this magnitude. If you went on the normal open boat trip, you'd wind up spending a lot more $$$. More importantly, you won't have the pleasure of fishing alongside great anglers who know what they're doing and are willing to work together.

JDF, if you have a codfish rod spooled with 300 yards of #60-#80, you're in business.

Alex (MVPAEC) - you're in! Sent you a PM, good to have you aboard.

JDF - I haven't heard back from you (I sent you a PM) - are you still interested?

Joe (F&R) - I got your PM's, thank you! Please keep me posted on your status.

Great to have you all joining!

Funny thing is, I talked to Capt Jeff for a while today about making the remaining spots open boat because I wasn't seeing much interest and since that time 4 people signed up. I had to call Jeff back and we decided to keep the boat totally chartered a little longer to see if it fills up.

If anyone is having trouble making a decision I highly suggest you check out the Voyager's website, specifically the photo gallery (2007 page 1-3)

Here's the deal...

Tomorrow is the LAST DAY I'll accept new sign ups for this trip.

Starting Monday all unfilled spots will be available on an open-boat basis through the Voyager website.

Those of you who haven't sent me payment yet have one week to communicate your payment plans to me (If you tell me you need an extra week to pay no big deal, just tell me).

By next Friday anyone who hasn't made payment plans won't have their spot held further and if they still want to come they will have to pay for an open boat spot to the voyager directly, I can't guarantee the same price on open boat spots.

Sorry to have to do it this way but with less than a month to go Jeff and I feel it's the best course of action.

Thanks guys.
