I am going to Las Vegas at the end of the month just wondering if anyone has been there & what is there to do besides gambling? I am going for a convention but I still will have a lot of idol time to site see. Let me know what you all think. Chris

Lots of great restaurants , lots of great shows and lots of sites to see. You can have a great time there without gambling.

check out the water show in front of Bellagio at night, up the block from there is the volcano in front of Mirage and up the block from there is the pirate show at Treasure Island.

The best way to make the most of a Vegas vacation is by renting a car and seeing ALL of Vegas, not just the strip.

Jet ski Lake Mead.
See Hoover Dam
Fire an AK-47
Pick up 2 dollar crack head hookers Downtown

The list goes on and on.
Enjoy yourself.

I really love going to Vegas. I went for the first time (since I was a kid) a year ago, in March. And then went back again in September, and again this past March. I love the place and I don't gamble at all.

New York, New York - Gallagers Steak House, the game room, roller coaster, great Mexican restaurant, and most of all, Cirque de Solei Zoomanity (Not for the kids, but a great show for couples)

Hooters Hotel - Hooters wings and the only Hooters that sells hard liquour.

Bellagio - dancing fountains, seasonal garden, three chocolate fountain

Paris - Eieffel tower.

Lots of other great shows I haven't gotten to see yet.

Just walking the strip and people watching is fun. Lots of bars, one area, by Margarittaville, always has an outside band and bar area. It's always funny to watch the "girls" working the drunks at the bar late at night too. No guy sits alone for long at the bar lol.

Outside of Vegas there is a ton to do too. Helicopter ride over Hoover Dam and Lake Meade, walk over Hoover Dam, jet ski Lake Meade, hike Red Rock Canyon, day trip to Death Valley, day trip to Grand Canyon South Rim, take a night to go to San Diego, see the zoo, Tiajuana, ride the coast line, or go to Los Angeles for and check out Hollywood.

Everytime I leave there, I can't wait to get back and do some more of what I've missed.

Fishing there isnt' the greatest actually. There are lots of stripers and carp in the lake, but they aren't that easy to catch, and as it gets warmer, they go deeper. My friend out there works very hard to get them.

But if you go to the marinas in the National Park, where the boat ramps, and boat and jet ski rentals are, you'll see tons of fish in the marinas themselves, where the fishing is prohibited of course (P.S. you're not allowed to catch them by hand either. Don't ask how we found out lol).

I forgot, a breakfast of steak and eggs on one of the floating marinas at Lake Meade is another fun thing to do.
