Ahhhhh-Lake George!
What groovy memories I have of that close to home getaway.
I haven't been there in years, but everytime I went with my friends we went camping.
Can't beat that.
If I rememeber correctly, one time we saw a Lynx walking down a mountain.
Kinda rare, at least it was for me when I was 20 something.
Maybe this helps?
Have fun---and take lots of pics for us.

Haven't been to Lake George in about 18 years. We used to go when the kids were small......had a great time.

We would camp out, I don't remember the name of the place, but it was right near a river.....nice wooded settings.....

And other times we would stay in the Whispering Pines Cottage.

Now I may have to go back there..............

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:.............maybe for Americade 2008.

Agreed. We found a marina willing to rent a boat to us, $30 for the day but a $100 deposit. No problem.

We'd drop worms off the side and watch like 30 bass stare at them before hitting- that's how clear the water was. When we returned the boat a $100 dollar bill was taped to our driver's window.

you should head up to the north end to do your boating. The southern end is loaded with wackos who have no right being behind the wheel of any boat... they'll rend them to anyone...:rolleyes:

anyway, go up to bolton landing, rent a boat, and fish the coves, some great smallmouth fishing! Have fun..

Lake George is great! We camped up there for a week a couple years back. Pack plenty of insect repellent. If you forget to spray yourself the mosquitoes will remind you quick.

The water is gin clear. We rented a party barge and spent the day cruising the shore and banging the bank w/ spinners. Every cast you would see 2 to 5 fish follow your lure. No of them very big but plenty of action.
