Has anybody heard of a boat called Ladybug out of Plymouth, MA? I am thinking about purchasing one (if I go ahead with this floating deli) but have not found much info on them other than what is on their website.

Skiff.

I've seen them many times on the internet; they look cool but would not buy one because (I beleive) it only comes in wood. If it had glass over a wood core I would take a closer look but...try to look for a used Carolina or Maritime Skiff.

Another builder to consider would be Pickerell in LI; he makes wood core with glass over downeast flat bottom skiffs. Vey nice boats!

I read a write up in National Fisherman recently that was insightful, you might find the info you are looking for if you can get past issues.

They reported that the current Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court, John G. Roberts recently had one built for him....

Ladybug boats look great!! I have only seen them online but they are basically a Brockway style skiff with flair.

Brockways were built in Old Saybrook and are very popular with commercial fishermen and working yards. Very stable and tough.

I have probably built over 30 Brockways with high school kids over the past 10 years ranging from 12 to 20 feet long and they are what they are, a plywood boat. Some have been known to last over 20 years so if you don't mind wood, don't be afraid of the plywood skiff.:)

I would say go for it, if you do buy one post up plenty of pics, I am a big fan of that style boat. Currently we are building a 20 foot Scow and have taken the lines off an original Brockway, should be interesting.
