thanks so much Surf.. i just wanted some tips on best pole and setup for me, i usually fish the moriches inlet in my boat, fluke.. but i tried bass fishing in october and caught 3 great keepers, of course i was very proud of myself needless to say hehe!!so i figured what the heck. let me try at the surf! also if you know of any good spots ...LOL i kinda like to stay on the north shore if possible, thanks again Barbie:)

For N.Shore fishing I'd use a 9ft. stick with medium action. A good quality mono in the 14lb range is good if your throwing plugs. If your going to bait fish or use bottom hugging lures like bucktails or jelly worms then go up to 17 or 20 lb test. The N. shore is very rocky, with mussel beds. That kind of structure will eat up your line fast. So check it often.
