I got to get out offshore on Monday to try out the new GUSA wahoo 8 ft. rod that I built and matched with a Trinidad 40.

The rod performed very well. I caught lots of red snapper, a large Jack cravelle and a few bar jacks. The feel of the rod is very good and the sensitivity is great. I was getting hit on most every drop. We only fished for a couple of hours because of a late start but I did get to enjoy jigging the new rod and the Trinidad 40. I liked the feel of the hits on the jigs...you can feel most every bump, tug, slam and missed hits that occur when jigging. I jigged it in a yo-yo fashion and even tried very active, (almost Japanese style jigging), and was getting hit. I enjoyed the setup and recommend it highly for those that have the jigging bug like I do.

Did you take out your new boat? I saw a Cape Horn out at Southern last Saturday jigging for AJ's. I made a mistake as I thought it was you. I pulled next to him and made a comical remark before I realized it wasn't you. A friend of mine "Mooned" them. I thought I recognized Snagged. He always talks about mooning people. The guy on the boat shot me the bird. I was embarrassed and apoligized to the guy and his friends.

Some time ago, I was fishing at a popular spot with many other boats. One of the boats had this great looking gal wearing her little bikini.:)
At one point in the heat of the day, she deceided to take it off.
To make it more frustrating, she kept doing toe touches for about fifteen minutes. It was the perfect fishing moon. Nobody, I mean nobody had a line in the water during that exercise session.

Later that night at port, I was at a local watering hole and noticed what I thought to be the same girl wearing a little mini skirt. I approached her and asked her if she went fishing today. She wouldn't give me a straight answer.
When the bar was closing, she came up to our table, turned around and touched her toes. We went nuts as she smiled and walked away. Every time I put a teaser in the water, I remember that moment.:)

lol...Mr. Bill that's too funny. (Remember...my boat is the one with the longhorn on it.
We ended up at the rigs near Ranzell's. We didn't go Saturday....it was Monday.

We didn't get many pics....too busy catching fish!

Here are a couple of pics though....

1. A ling that I caught that came out from under a huge weed patch
2. Nate kissing my ling....and the ling's reaction
3. A very nice weedline and color change

That would be a great rod....and would travel well. I am going to Puerto Vallarta again in October and our group is thinking about getting some jigging in while there. I will probably build a two piece OTI 8' rod for jigging...(I already have the blank). If the GUSA Wahoo became available in a two piece blank I would definitely want one.
