Have heard a lot of good reports on the JJ out of Huntington. My father-in-law is up from Florida & was thinking of a blackfishing expedition.

Anyone have the phone #? Thought it would be listed on this site - nope.

I'll be giving it a try this Saturday. It may be a mob scene but it's the only time I have to go.

Wader,
I'll also be out there Saturday. It's going to be crazy but it's the only time I can make it as well. Maybe I'll see you out there among the other 100 or so folks!

PS Can't be sure, but I think we may have spoken up at the Niss. Do you remember giving you give some advise to a surf newbie a while back.

I recall talking to a couple of anglers on the shore of the beautiful Nissequoge from this site from time-to-time.

Gave a little advice to one or two.

Look for me on the JJ Saturday - I'll be on the morning trip with a 70 year Floridian who will undoubtably be shivering.

take note: Capt. James transducers are mounted off the bow, and i quote "assholes levitate to the back, i like to fish so if any piece of my boat is over the wreck you can guaranteee it's the bow"

at least thats what he's told me

SandFlee,

You may be right. Peosonally I like to fish bowside. Predicting fishing is like predicting economy. Usually you have to figure out why your prediction is wrong.

I've known Jimmy for many years as a regular on the JJ. He is very good at anchoring. It dosen't matter where the tranducer is. He can visualize a wreck.
For example, His favorite wreck is Celtic wreck. He fishes the wreck almost everyday to produce fish. He can put you on where he wants to. But rarely I've seen the whole boat sit on the wreck because of the wind direction and tide. Especially on the weekend he has to compete with other private boats for the right spot. Some section of the boat has to be sacrificed. Percentagewise it could be bowside or sternside. That is my theory.

When there is room on the boat, Jimmy usually ask you move to where the bites are on. But on this weekend you have to fish where you stand.
