Has anyone had any experience with the Jamaica offshore trips. They are running trips for COD/PollacK/HAKE/Giant Sea Bass to the wrecks within 50 to 80 miles. Are these basically Sea Bass trips and if you are lucky you might land a cod, The price isn't bad at 105 and the ride isn't bad either.I was looking at the Helen H trips they want $225, throw in a Hotel pretty good piece of change and all their wreck trips are during the week

It's a seabass trip and it is DEFINITELY not for the kids--I've had some nasty drunks on there more than once. On the positive side, don't be put off by the fact that it's 98% seabass as the fish are BIG. It's well worth the $105 to do the trip.

give the helen h at least one shot this year you will not be sorry if its cod that you want. jamaica trips are 99% giant sea bass nothing at all wrong with that but if you are looking for the elusive atlantic cod go north. BOB
