Hi:

Was planning on going to Jamaica Bay (towards Breezy Pt. early Sunday) but at last minute didn't. I figured what with the wind, cooler weather and the fact that I don't have waders or appropriate clothing for this time of year that I just wouldn't go...now its killing me. Am curious as **** as to what action there was early Sumday morning.. It's like not buying your Lotto ticket --- you figure that week your numbers will come in.

I had been planning on using 1 1/2 bucktails for stripers and even had some flounder hooks also for the later part of the low tide.

Please let me know if there was any action? thanks.

I fished Breezy the last 3 Saturdays, twice on outgoing tide and saw one bass and a few blues all on clams or bunker. Once on high tide I did not see anything. Do you have corkers? If not do not try walking the jetty. If so, that and a cheap rainsuit and you can walk to the end where the best fishing is BUT it is not for the timid and you will be pounded by the waves (I sort of like it). Fish that with bucktails on the outgoing in the rip

At Breezy Point it's either feast or famine. So if you don't have a buggy and a Gateway permit, it's not worth the one mile walk-in.

I was out on the tip of the jetty on a Sarurday morning in early October and saw a guy bring in a 43-inch 35# bass on bunker chunks. Next cast he nailed one about 36 inches but lost it in the rocks. I've also been out there with dozens of other guys and gotten bupkus.

The beach is really flat with little or no structure. But when bait fish come down the beach, the blitzes are great.

I'm going to try tossing some live eels off the tip tomorrow night. Hopefully, I'll have a report to post.
