anybody know whats bein caught around the sea wall going towards the marine parkway bridge.....or around the beach channel high
school area this is gonna be my second time out this year...do t workin o much....ned some relaxation..so im tryin to make it a good one.....thank for the help......good luck to all and good fishing

I've been fishing Jamaica Bay for almost 40 years.I have not been out lately my self,but here is what I'm hearing from members of my yacht club lately.The whole area is full of ****tail blues.Some are catching weaks on 3X3 rigs,but better near Floyd Bennet.That is still one of my favorite areas for fluke,but expect alot of shorts.I also heard that some of Smitty's boats are getting some porgies too.
I will be in the area alot now that I'm on vacation.If you see me in my 29 Proline,come over and say hi.

There are plenty of fluke in and around the area, mostly shorts but an occasional fatty will come up, porgies and small sea bass are in the area. The porgies have been short, size is 10" on the porgies, be careful, the dec has been watching the area very closely, boarding boats and writing plenty of fines. ****tail blues are all over the place,during the early morning hours and in the early evening, sometimes making the water look like it's boiling. Weakfishing has been good by the school, but has died down a bit, it should start picking back up again soon.

DEC watching THAT area?
Now THAT'S refreshing to hear!
Last time I fished Beach Channel HS, I got into an argument with a gentleman who took exception to my releasing shorts! EVERYONE ELSE WAS KEEPING THEM! It was like a way of life there! I weigh 300 pounds, I got nose to nose with the guy, and loudly asked, "DID I TELL YOU WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR FISH?" Than don't tell me what to do with mine" He backed off, "no problem man". I was quite angry, as it was the only time I have had to defend my PERSONAL catch and release philosophy. DEC is overdue and most welcome, but I won't believe it until I see it with my own eyes!
