Well everyone our saga continues...

As many of you know my Wife and I finally decided to end our Marriage...

I gave our 9 year old son a heads up the night before, he was good about it and said he still loves us very much...And Son, you are the World to us...

I told him, hopefully I'll buy you a house nearby and I'll be there in every step of your life, I'm paying Mommy's college tuition so that they will be always in good graces...She is a **** fine woman who survived Cancer and a Fantastic Mother, with an incredibally supportave family...

I am moving on to buying a 2 Family house with my 71 year old mother, she has really bad legs and can't be by herself any longer...I am trying to sell her Oceanfront Co-Op in Rockaway Park, Queens...I know it will go in time to nice people...

Also, I am in the beginning stages of creating my own Company...

To all my Brothers and Sisters out there...Never let your Dreams Die...

Good luck Sal im pulling for you. You can be a good Dad and not be with the old lady, many people do just that. Like you said just keep a good friendly relationship with her, you will always have to deal with her. On another note I think you are a fine respectable hard working man who will succeed one way or another. Your new business will thrive, you have it in you paisano. Lots of luck to you

Sorry to hear it didn't work out Sal.

I'll give you the same advice I give to everyone I know going through a divorce (having been on the kid's end a couple of times):

1 - Whatever you think your kids don't know, THEY KNOW! Be honest with them and don't think you're pulling anything over on them, they're smarter than we give them credit for.

2 - ALWAYS DO THE RIGHT THING!!! Hopefully everything can go smoothly and you and your soon2beX can remain civil, but if it doesn't, YOU always make sure you do the right thing. You're kids are watching, and in the end, everything will work out.

As the saying goes............Been there done that...........and mine started out as amicable, but very quickly turned sour.........

......Be very cautious about anything that she says and that things will go easy.
I learned the hard (and costly) way........... Remember, there is a reason your getting divorced.........

....and while you have to do the right thing for the kids.............Don't let her be the one calling all the shots

Everything materialistic can be replaced.

Kids need to feel secure and safe. This really affects them a lot.

good luck sal, ive been through it myself, and my son i have to say is my life and im with him very very often, i stay very amicable with my ex, and we are actually better friends now than when we were married, if you ever need to vent shoot me a mail.

I don't know you or your circumstances, but I got divorced 5 years ago, from my wife of 28 years.

Looking back, if I could have a do over, I would have worked harder at making it work. Not sure it would have, but I wish I had tried.
