Thursday, 2/9 COD ABOARD THE ISLAND CURRENT FLEET Today, 2/9 both the 50' ISLAND CURRENT II & 76' ISLAND CURRENT III were out on the cod grounds and both Captains reported steady action the entire day. Capt. Brendan aboard the ISLAND CURRENT II called in to report some larger green cod moving into the area. The trip was close to a full limit for Tommy L. and his crew from Flushing, Queens. High hook for the trip was Marc O., catching 14 keepers (ORL). Capt. Brendan did yet another fantasic job of putting his private charter on the meat. Pool fish was a very impressive large COD that will be offically weighed at the dock. Capt. James was also jubilant in his successful trip aboard the open boat, ISLAND CURRENT III. Capt. James noted that there were many FULL BOAT LIMITS reached and several anglers that were just one shy of their limit. Wally J. & Bob C had 19, Jim K., from Groton, CT had 12 (ORL), Paul Ripperinger had 16 (ORL), Michael S., from Yonkers has 11 (ORL). Pool fish was caught by Scott K., taking the pool with a 15 pounder. The fishing continues to be very good and the weather looks excellent for the next couple of days.
