ISLAND CURRENT FLEET The 65' ISLAND CURRENT EXPRESS departed SNUG HARBOR, RI at 5 AM for our open boat CODFISH trip. What a difference a day makes. The weather today was amazing and the fishing was very good. There was a much better showing of quality CODFISH today in good numbers, tautog, and some humpback scup. Some noteable highlights went to Mary & Keith from NY, Jamie A., from Brewster, NY, Pablo G., from Bristol, RI, and Mario H., from Westerly RI. There were several limits reached and some anglers came very close to fulfilling their limit. Please call the office to confirm your reservations after 7 PM this evening as we will be monitoring the weather movement for Sunday's trip. The Rhode Island Blackfish season is now closed and we would like to thank everyone who fished with us and chartered out both of our vessels. Full boat limits were the norm and the big fish of the fall season went to Capt. Scott with an impressive 14.4 pounder. We will now be targeting cod at 5am daily. The 50' ISLAND CURRENT II is available for small groups of 6 to 20 passengers for private charters or limited load trips. The 65' ISLAND CURRENT EXPRESS will be departing at 5 am for COD. Our New York season has ended and will resume April 1, 2013. We will be fishing up in Rhode Island throughout the winter. Open boat reservations and private charters available year round.
