I stopped by Connetquot river today for a pre-season fly by. The lady there told me that starting this February that you can only use hip waders. No chest waders of any kind and the boots must be felt less. Is this new or is this been going on for a while?

Old news. The "hip boot only" rule has been in effect for about a year now, ever since the IPN virus(Infectious pancreatic necrosis) was discovered in a sample of the hatchery's trout.

I didn't think it was possible for the Connetquot to become a less appealing place to fish.
