Something I noticed as I am close contact with some members from the boards who mentioned they get constantly get bombarded with emails and PM's although I don't hear many complaints some guys may not relize how much time this takes to answer all these questions privatly . Many of these guys have familys and just don't have the time although they do there best to handle the responces . This is becoming a second job for them .

Is this good for the people involved , the whole board and its members in General ?

What I mean is that many of these Emails and PM's are great questions and if posted would create some great topics . So why not just ask with a post ? Wouldn't this make for some more interseting discussions that would make this board even better ? Just a though .

Sometimes the pm feature

can be used to avoid bringing a mass of attention to a subject, but I talk with some of the moderators and they say that there are many general questions asked in private, Ex: "what kind of rod, reel , and bait" type questions.
The moderator that comes to mind usually encourages people to post the questions on the appropriate board.

Exactly why is that a bad thing for the site and its members ? Is'nt that what makes this board different and better then others shared info .

Mike all bords are the same, people share what they know.

Sometimes people are embarrased to ask a Q in a public forum because they feel it is something that everyone else know's but them. I prefer a direct e-mail to a PM, I use PM's to clear up any differences I may have with someone. With a direct E-mail, I can save it and possibly use the info when asked the same Q again by someone else.

The way to fix the PM's, is if it becomes a problem, have them turned off for an individual when it gets out of control, and I'm sure it gets out of control with some who have more knowledge than others.
