My 1st trip to Montauk this year made me realize I am not the only one with a crappy pair of Corkers. I think 99% of the fisherman I saw were either duct taping or using tie wraps to secure their Korkers to their waders. Does anyone make a pair of Corkers that stay on without some home made intervention? Anyone ever try screwing on metal golf cleats to a pair of waders?

Korkers

I never had a problem with Korkers falling off. I fish jettys and rocky areas much of my time. I don't tape them on. I always tie twice in the in-step and once around my boot. I use the original style.

surfacestrike,

i personaly cant stand korkers there heavy and clumbsy. what i would do is go out and buy a pair of wading boots. simms , orvis , hodgeman, and cablela's all make nice boots. some offer a studded felt sole boot which will glue you to the rocks, if there to pricey then get the felt soled boots and screw in 1/2 sheet meatl screws(the screw's used for air conditioning ducts) in the felt soles. it works for me and i also fish for steelhead in the winter and they work great for me up there too.

The ultimate way to ensure korkers stay on is tro screw them into the heel of your wader boot or waiding shoe boot. A 1" sheet metal screw straight in (horizontally) does the trick very well.
