While I am adamantly opposed to the senate bill the above quote is not true. The deadline for being in this country to receive this amnesty was Jan. 1, 2007. It's already to late to sneak in and claim amnesty. Mt question is how are they going to know who was here on Jan. 1, 2007?

Regarding your indian (native american) references. Do you realized that in every country that makes uf the G-8 industrialized countries of the world, the original aborigines were overrun and subjugated by another people? And yes that's true even in Japan.

America prides itself on standing alone and doing whats right. Your reference to the other G8 countries proves what?

It proves that since time imemorial, might makes right. The bigger more powerful clans, races, tribes, call them wahatever you want, displace the "native" people and take the resources for themselves. And rememeber that a lot of the land grab from the native Americans took place even before there was a United States. Today it's a moral crime to waste resources, yestersay it was a moral crime to not use resources. Times change, but nothing will undo history. The native Americans even did it to each other, but white eyes had the superior armamaents and numbers. Do you see the Italians (Romans)apologizing to the most opf western Europe that they conquered? Are the Russians apoligizing to the ugurs, uzbeks, etc? Are the chinese apolgizing to Mongolians? Get over it. We treat the indenginous people of the U.S. better than most of the countries of the world.

Well, I can tell you that I have and do know more than a few illegal aliens, and they are not all Latin Americans. And I can also tell you that not all of them are the "needy" people you portray. Also a lot of them want no part of a "path to citizenship." All they want to do is make money and send it home and then, eventually, to return home themselves and "retire." with what we would consider a little money in the bank, they can afford to retire in their home countries and live pretty well.

Unemployment benefits are a matter of state law, so you would have to check the state's rules as to who is elgible. Personally I have problem with legal aliens being eligible, their employer pay for their UI just like they do for citizens. As for SS their entitlemnt or lack thereof is determined by their country of origin if they are here temporarily. Many countries have what is called a "totalization" agreement with the U.S. where their residents earn into the home country's pension while working in the U.S. If they are a permanent resident of the U.S. then they are treated the same as a U.S. citizen, and why shouldn't they be?

Why should it make a difference as to where the "check" is mailed? In fact most of the time its not a check but a credit to a bank account.

Sure they'll send the credit to any bank account you specify. But most folks who are living abroad, especially those in "less Devloped" countries, keep most of their liquid assts in U.S. Accounts, and that includes most of the foreign citizens living in those countries who have a decent amount of money.

I have to agree wiht Makobob. if you dry up the jobs with meaningful employer sanctions, most of them will go back on their own, no need to "round them up and deport them."
