It was already blazing hot when we left the dock at 630 on Friday. There were bunker everywhere but the bass were silent. We chunked in the rocks for a while on one of my better bass spots but not a touch. We did put some clams down and had a slow but steady pick of porgies ranging from small keepers to 15 inches. I also picked up a fat flounder. Hopefully I'll see it again in April. After giving up on the stripers we headed to some deeper structure to look for sea bass. We had non-stop porgies and cookie cutter short sea bass. We kept a baker's dozen of our better porgies. The amazing thing was we didn't catch a single sea robin or bergall. Hopefully my no sea robin streak will continue when I go fluke fishing next time. Until then... Tight lines! <like href="http://www.noreast.com/postedreports/view.cfm?id=194831" send="false" show_faces="false" width='layout="button_count"'></like> Porgy up! A pair of 15 inch pork chops Ready to go under the knife |
