My 6 yr old just decided he liked ice skating and wanted to try ice hockey. I used to play in high school and know it costs a lot of money. Does anyone have childrens hockey equipment they want to get rid of? Ice hockey skates about a size 6. Thanks Bubba

Gebby is right on!
I bought my 5 year old skates/helmet/gloves for about $30 at the one in Carle Place.
Very nice folks own it!
There are other Play it Again stores(franchised) and is the way to go with sport equipment that kids outgrow every year or so.

He is now six and I'd like to get him involved in hockey/skating also.

Also, might want to try looking at the rinks themselves. Some have proshops with used gear or some kind of swap program. Now that you son is playing hockey, might as well save him from baseball and put a lacrosse stick in his hands....
