I have an opportunity to come to the Northeast Coast to fish in the summer of 2002. I have the option to schedule my trip between May 01 and August 31. I will be staying in Hampton Beach NH. and fishing from a friends 28' Grady White in the Atlantic.

I am a seasoned skipper and an avid fisherman but most of my fishing has been off the Texas Coast in the Gulf of Mexico. I have made trips to the Canadian Pacific Northwest for Salmon and Halibut and to the Southern Pacific for Sailfish.

My question is:
1) What is the best date between May and August?
2) What fish species are most plentiful and preferred?
3) What kind of tackle and special techniques are needed?
4) What is the license requirements for a non resident 3 day fishing trip on a private boat? Cost?

Any information or web site links that might help me make an informed decision would be greatly appreciated.

Post here or mail me direct. My email address is [email protected]

Thanks

Jim

Thanks Mark for your very informative email. I have been researching the area using the info and I realize that you have a very active whale watching industry in this area. Does it compete with the fishing? What seasons are the whales active in the area?

Please! anyone

Jim
