Hello my fellow fishermen. I know it has been a long time since I've been here and posted a message. As some of you might know, I had become pregnant for the first time last season..... well I had to cut my fishing season short- I had twin girl and boy! I didn't find out until almost 5 months of pregnancy that the baby was not alone- lol! I did continue to fish until October and had to call it quits on account that I was too "big" to climb on and off the boat. My due date was Feb.23. I delivered however Dec. 15- 10 weeks early. Paul John was 2lbs.6oz. and Gianna Marie was 3lbs. Both babies spent seven weeks in Stony Brook NICU and are now well over 11lbs. We all could not be any happier than we are now!
Unfortunately, my husband and I are going to have to put down our poles this season ( and a few more to follow I'm sure) as one might imagine. I am depending on all you guys to make me feel like I'm in the game. I hope to read some great stuff from you all in the season to come. I thank you all for the years of expert advise and some great tips. Best wishes to you all! I'll be on this end trying to show those babies how to hold a pole!

Take Care,
Lori Ann Vitti

Instant family! Hi Lori Ann

I'm glad your back !
I was thinking about you when we were discussing the arrival of the mackerel because you always kept a Journal.

You're all too kind!

Thank you one and all for the nice responses. Both babies are wonderful and I can't imagine life with just one- lol! I will however miss fishing this season. Maybe I'll have to book a trip with Capt. Neil as a Mother's Day gift!!!!
Capt. Alan- to answer your makerel inquiry, it was the end of April last year. So, if the mack's follow suit- get your rear in gear-lol!
Again, so nice of you all to respond. I will be sure to stay in touch with you all. I send you all my best.

P.S. Capt. Neil- give that new grandbaby of yours an extra kiss for me!!! Oh yeah, Vince- I'm not done yet-lol!!! This is just the beginning!
Congrats on the two rug rats. It was good to see your post this morning I was wondering where you got off to. The only problem is they will be out fishing all of us soon. Stay in the loop and we'll fill you in on all the "lies". Best of luck and God those little ones. Tom
Lori -

Congratulations! Glad to hear the little ones are well. Growing up in a family of anglers - they are already one step ahead.

Even with all of your new responsibilities as Mom, you will still need time for yourself - if you get my "drift."

Enjoy them.

Steve

Lori,
Congrats! I too was wondering what happened to you, I missed those cheerfull reports. I can't imagine all of those diapers, and the middle of the night feedings with two!
They'll be fishing before you know it. I had mine son on the boat last year, catching snappers with me (he was three).
Rememeber, you do need some time to yourself, (so does your husband)
Good luck!!
Nice to see your "report"

Hi Lori

I wouldn't expect you to remember me .....my former and sometimes current handle is Seaox(1 or 2 I can't remember which) In any case I just wanted to say congratulations on your two little ones.
I remember always enjoying your input on these boards and more than once your direct responses to my inquiries. You were always so helpful. I'm sure that even though you and your husband will be fishing alot less for the time being the joy and happiness you will experience in the years to come will more than make up for it.

I have two little fishing buddies of my own a girl 10 and a boy 6. They are good! They have learned so much. Nothing brings me more joy than to hear my son yell.Gotchya!! as he leans back on a fish with his favorite rod arched over.

Tight lines!
Good Luck you need it LOL

Hi Lori:

Congratulations on you two little one a girl and boy.

I have twin girl and boy too! it was real surpize to my wife and myself, both little joys, but they are a lot of work and sleepless nights. The twins are going to be 4 in June.

One big mistake we made it not taking time for ourselfs both of you need to take some time for yourself. Get a baby sitter and do some fishing go out to dinner etc. The babies should be included in you life and not your life.

Hey you or you mate could would be welcome to fish with me for the day, and please feel free to ask any babies questions you would like to ask.

We also have a 9 year old girl so we already made most of the first baby miskates.

Hey I started to fish again mostly early in the morning late at night, and hey just think few year you have a fishing family. You both sound like wonderful people good luck to both of you.

Good Luck again LOL

My Two Guppies!

WOW- I never expectedso many responses! You guys are wonderful!!!! I wasn't going to put a picture up but.... LOL I'm not too proud of my kids!!!

Vinny F- What a sweet compliment! I thank you kindly. And you must be a terrific husband to have such great things to say for your wife.

Bassman- LOL on the diapers! Figure each baby goes through at least 10 diapers a day so, that's 140 diapers a week! I wipe alot of butt!! It's well worth it though!

Anthony Ale- Of course I remember you! Who can forget that never end discussion over the fluke regs. for last year! There must've been at least 40 posts in that thread!! I never forget the people who have good information and nice things to always say!

Bunker Lou- God Bless You! I can say that from experience now-lol! I do enjoy them. They are alot of work. Thank God we are past the night time feedings finally. Both babies sleep at least 8 hours at night. Things just get better everyday! Does your twins enjoy fishing??? I'm hoping mine do!!!!

Paul John on the left and Gianna Marie on the right.

Hi Lori,

Beautiful babies. Thanks for the wonderful picture.

Are they easy to tell apart, OOPS, stupid question, a boy and a girl!!.

You know what I mean. If they are dressed the same. I'm sure by now each has a different personality.

God bless you all!!

Capt Neil
Oh, the twins have names allready, I was going to suggest...

For the boy either " Bucktail" or "Mackerel" or Alba-core

And the girl I liked " Diamond jig "
or " Sea Robin "
no good?

Best wishes! Missed seeing your commentary. Have fun on your excellent new adventure (times TWO). Great picture!

LOT of wisdom from BunkerLou. I see his point. My daught just turned 8. We made a lot of sacrifices, my wife decided to stay home afterward. Great for my daugher, no better person to watch her. Guess with one income, I had to pick up the slack. She has only been with a sitter less than 1/2 dozen times all these years.

Guess I have more stress and less fishing. My schedule didn't permit me to catch the much of the fall run. (Not to mention I kept picking those **** North Shore beaches - heard the South Shore ruled again this year?!)

In the meantime, I have taken my daughter snapper fishing and trout fishing (Eldredpreserve.com in Monticello) as well as Disney World. LOTS of memories. Most memorable moment a few years ago on the beach, told her that she can't handle the rod in the spike, and that a fish would pull her in. When I did finally get a blue from the beach, she wrapped her arms around my waist, I asked why? She said so that the fish doesn't pull ME in. Guess it is all worth it.

Maybe I'll rent a skiff this year and try to catch a few fish.

ALL the best.
