I am planning on putting a fishfinder in my Hobie outback and remembered that I had one of these little wrist fishfinder rigs. I was never to impressed with it, but thought I should give it a try by somehow putting the little green float in a water bath in the front compartment . Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas on this so far half baked plan? Thanks Ed

I have the smartcast also. I had problems with mine if it didn't have a unobstructed view to the float
If your putting it in a compartment you might have problems with getting readings on the wristband.

Nice setup Jaiem.

I like mine, but I usually have it in freshwater. Great for casting off the shore and watching the structure on the retrieve. I have used it in salt, but clean off the sensor quickly. Watch is fast on batteries.

I wear the watch on my right wrist, and flip it to the inside. I hold the rod butt with my right hand, and do a real slow retrieve with my left (spinning reel). It's not too difficult.
