I have a 7 yr old boiler.
I forgot my oil was low and ran it out, I believe.
House is cold, furnace is not running.
Earlier I hit the reset button and it tried to fire but didn't.
I did that twice.
I went and got kerosine and poured 5 gals in tank.
Now, when I hit the red button for the flashing (1/2 sec green light)
it does NOT attempt to fire.
It is a Honeywell unit.
It says if the flash is 1/2 second it is in "lockout".
Says to press button to get it out of lock out.
I have tried pressing button quickly and then holding it for 15 seconds.
Nothing works.
I have turned off the power twice thinking it would reset.
But nothing....
If anyone is familiar with this unit and can suggest something, I'd appreciate it.
I will be reading my manual also....
thank you in advance....:)

Are you getting any lockout codes? No flame or no fuel will lock you out. Not familiar with that unit
yeah it says a 1/2 sec flash is lockout, but says click to unlock.

I am going to bleed and hit start now.. back in a few.

if you drained out your tank you may have sucked some sediment or sludge into your line/filter and clogged the nozzle on the gun.
I am by no means an expert but if everything looks right and your still not firing then it may be clogged up, or air bound.
You have to find the bleeder.

does the gun (thing that looks like a blower) run at all?

Carolyn,
On the left side of the burner, there is a fuel pump. Usually near the bottom of the fuel pump is the bleeder valve. If you have a piece of air tubing (like from a fish tank) put it over the bleeder and catch the fuel in a can. Crack the valve loose and hit the reset button. It will start to spit air. You will have to do this a few times untill the fuel oil comes out steady. The burner will start to fire when it starts getting fuel. When it does, tighten the bleeder valve. Let it run awhile, then when it cycles again, crack the bleeder a bit and bleed any remaining air out.

Here's what the fuel pump looks like, the bleeder is near the bottom.

Have had to do this over the years .... to open, just loosen slightly with a wrench. When the fuel starts to flow, you can tighten it and the burner should just fire right off.

where is mike from amdsrv when u need him.thats a honeywell cadcell relay with a lockout.shut your emergency switch off for 5 min then hit the reset button on the relay itself.just a word of advice.if you ran out of oil you prob need to change the nozzle, filter cartridge, and pump filter for it will be clogged.this is so because sludge gets sucked up off the bottom when you run that low.open the canister filter and you will know for shure
