How do you properly clean metal spikes on your Corkers? I have noticed some accumulation on the spikes after I rinsed them with fresh water. Is it normal and if so how to prevent this accumulation in the future? Are there any so to speak monthly maintenace? Please describe in details.

Thanks in advance

Just hose down with fresh water after each use, that's enough, I've had mine for years and thats the only maintenance other than replacing a missing spike once in a while.

ditto that..

they have carbid tips i think, a high dose of carbon in the steel helps them stay sharp but speeds up rust.
Not much you can do than clean off the salt and dry them off.
I know a guy who puts a dab of grease on the tips before he puts them away for the season.
