has it improved your life ?

I first experienced the internet in 1994. My brother got on the internet around 1992 or so. My first experience was getting water temps from a website.
Bought my first computer in 1997 and it cost me $1200 ! it had a 200 MHZ processor and a tiny harddrive and very little memory.
I was 33 years old when I got my first computer. Glad I lived 33 years without a computer. I love the internet but it can be addictive. Sometimes I use the computer for hours when I got nothing else to do. In the old days I did other things to pass my time, like taking a walk or playing baseball. Its amazing , some kids spend all day online !. Crazy !
The first time I saw/used a computer was in 1982. I think my high school had an apple computer. Had no interest in computers back then. I don't know why I took that course ?

Overall, the internet has improved my life. I learned alot on this website. And I save alot of money shopping online too. Its a great thing but too much can be bad for you.

1976.. when I started college, I got my first email account. There was no web back then.. and the speed was 300baud, which means you could read the text faster than it downloaded!
I set up my first website in 1993.. the year Mosaic came out!

I held out til 1998.

My dog training clients kept asking for my email address....
I finally got tired of saying...
I don't have nor do I want ... No Stinking Computer...

Now I won't live without it.

I spend $60. a month for a Verizon Air Card so I have service virtually, anywhere.

(I only have 'basic' cable TV... 12 channels... hahaha:rolleyes: )

I have used it as an encyclopedia
, check product reviews
and kept in touch with friends
... like ya'll.... ;)

1995 on my first home computer. 1985 at my first job out of college. One of the guys was able to get on with his computer with a 900 baud modem. It was like a message board for nerds and there was just some text messages.

Don't recall the year but I was using a 16k CPM machine with 8 inch floppy drives! The modem was something like 8 KB. That was a looong time ago!
