My best is 5 ~ twice!

We have had 5 makos in one day ~ twice. Once, 2 summers ago at the Yankee on a dead calm day, we had 5 makos around the boat at one time ~ all swimming in clear blue flat water ~ we counted 5 different 50 to 80-pound fish!

We have had 4 makos in one day too many times to count. Only once though, did we find big fish. More often than not, "multiple mako" days for ME means small fish (under 125-lbs).

Anyone else think this has some truth? Bigger fish tend to be solitary ~ smaller fish in packs?

Huh?

I wasn't counting the 5 around the boat as one of those "5 caught" days either. It was just an amazing sight. Catching five means reeling 5 to the boatside. No matter what the size, it is still catching 5.

The one in the photo to the left is 80 pounds ~ and released. I dont take anything less than 150 either. However, that wasn't the nature of the question!
